Going Old School

I know it’s been weeks.

I’ve been further dealing with the dead mice drama, helping my future father-in-law, and we had a wedding at the beach.

No, not our wedding. A wedding we were in. And it was lovely.

But all this means that I’ve had little time to myself, little time to unwind. And wound up writing isn’t really my thing. I promised to be honest, but that doesn’t mean I have to write in the moment and be angry.

That being said, my gal Tracie shared this just before my fiance and I headed off to vacation. I promised her I’d do one when I got home. Sorry I’m a week late, but here it is, my dear!

Ten years ago I was a young mother with a two year old and we were Bob the Builder fans. I worked in Catering at a local casino and dreamed of being an executive chef someday.

What 5 things are on your to do list?

Writing

Baking

Crafting

Emailing

Resting

What are 5 snacks you enjoy?

Cheese and crackers

My taco dip with tortilla chips

Artichoke dip with fresh bread

M&Ms and popcorn

Cookies (especially Oatmeal Scotchies!)

Name some things you would do if you were a millionaire.

Write AB and Band Back Together a giant check.

Pay for my son’s education.

Move some friends closer.

Buy a ranch, raise horses and dogs and flowers.

Collect books.

Build a music studio for my fiance.

Have the BEST craft studio.

Name some places you have lived.

In a hick-town

On an Indian reservation

In my own mind

On a military base.

Name some bad habits you have.

I talk too much, to the point of rambling.

I bite the ends of my pens when I’m stressed or thinking hard.

I will sing along, loudly, to any song I know. No matter where I am.

Name some jobs you have had.

Catering Assistant

Customer Service

Technical Support

Nanny

Teacher’s Assistant

Tracie- Thank you for this. For reminding me I still had stories in me to share, that my writing didn’t have to reflect my current turmoil to still be honest. And as always, for so much more.

  1. I always love getting to know more about you:) Been meaning to do this too, but haven’t quite been able to pull myself together:/

  2. I didn’t know that you did catering in a casino! Look at you being all professional-chefy.

Artichoke dip with fresh bread – yum!
Oatmeal Scotchies!?!? I need more info about this!

I love you muchly. So happy to see you writing! xoxo

    1. Oatmeal Scotchies = Oatmeal cookies with butterscotch chips. They are full of the awesome. And now I want some. And I’ll pass along the artichoke dip recipe, it’s something Katie could make πŸ™‚

      1. Great combination! I want some too.

Please do pass on that recipe. Katarina isn’t a huge fan of artichokes…but she might be willing to make some dip for me! πŸ™‚
